DOWNLOADS The following files can be downloaded to your computer for you to print out and evaluate the publication. You'll need Adobe's Acrobat (r) Reader to open and print the files, which are in .pdf (Portable Document Format). The Reader is freely available from Adobe's web site (www.adobe.com) or simply click the following logo and follow the instructions. (downloading times will vary according to the speed of your Internet connection) Some files are quite large and may take a while to download. (File size is given in kilobytes (kb) - there are about 1400 Kb on a floppy disc.) For those of you who are unfamiliar with downloading files, please CLICK HERE for some guidance notes. RIGHT-CLICK on the file name and select 'Save Target As ...' All by Myself readers (1372kb) Amazer (1048kb) Busy Words (847kb) Castle Blend (1316) Co-ordinates (54kb) Diagnostic Dictations (363kb) First 100 (1098kb) Five-Minute Phonic Check (343kb) Jouez en Francais (539kb) Jeux Francais (591kb) Language GAP (83kb) Magic Vowel Wizard (1293kb) Mnemonic Spelling System (1400kb) Number Puzzles (1150kb) Oliver's KS1 Maths (1138kb) One-a-Day Letter (1100kb) One-a-Day Number (1193kb) Phonic Spelling Programme (1164kb) Pre-literacy Skills Check (244kb) Rat Rhymes (1361kb) Shop of Letters (1310kb) Word Attack (1158kb) Working Vocabulary (1300kb) Taming Tricky Words (362kb) Purposeful Festive Fun (424kb) For notes on printing sample pages, PLEASE CLICK HERE. 'Downloading' simply means copying a file from a website on to your hard drive (or a floppy disc or Zip disc if you prefer). To download a sample pages file from the list, do this:
Note: You don't need the Reader to download the file, but you will need it to open and print the file. Note: The reason I say RIGHT-CLICK is that, if you have Acrobat(r) Reader on your computer and you left-click, it will attempt to open the file that's on senter's web site and this could take ages depending on the speed of your modem and computer system. Far better to be safe and RIGHT-CLICK to save the file, then open it when you're off-line. To get a free copy of Adobe (r) Acrobat(r) Reader: This is simple enough to do. You click on the Acrobat (r) Reader symbol below and that takes you to Adobe's web site where you'll see instructions on downloading Acrobat (r) Reader to your computer (Windows PC or Mac). It's completely free and very handy and 'unpacking' it only takes a few minutes. This shouldn't present a problem, but if you get unexpected results such as gobble-de-gook text, go to File > Print and put a tick in the box next to where it says 'Print as image'; this will take longer to print, but should eliminate the problem. If you have the senter CD, there's full back-up on this kind of thing by phone if you need it and the same set of sample pages is available. To order your free senter CD, CLICK HERE.
